About SMROA

The Smoky Mountain Rental Owners Association (SMROA) is an organization of people who have an interest in vacation visitor lodging near the Great Smoky Mountain National Park located in Sevier County, Tennessee. The association includes the owners and/or investors who have developed the overnight rental business by purchasing a vacation rental property in Sevier County. There are virtually thousands of jobs related to the rental property business, from the companies that mow the lawns and the maids who make the beds all the way up to the governmental entities that provide utilities and benefit from property tax revenue. Other businesses which benefit and grow from your property purchase are rental companies, real estate companies, cleaning services, banks, construction companies, marketing and advertising professionals, utilities, insurance companies, pest control companies, hot tub companies, furniture companies, landscaping, and many more.

SMROA exists to facilitate sharing of information and ideas among the owners of rental properties in our area so that the strength that we gain by working together may facilitate the best experience for all involved in our industry. We also want to establish standards of service that guests can begin to identify with our membership as a brand. We believe that will increase visitor satisfaction and make it even more likely that they will return to our area again and again.

Realizing that we are part of a two billion dollar business makes the members of SMROA the single greatest investors and Sevier County’s largest employer. Working together, we will be able to maximize our investments through group savings on our insurance, pest control, monthly maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other expenses we share as a group.

Since we at SMROA are local businessmen and fellow investors we will use our contacts with local vendors and the leverage we get from our collective buying power to guarantee the owner the best prices available.

We encourage owners of properties in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg to register to vote on our web site and to actively seek to influence the powers that be to focus more attention and more tourism dollars toward our rental properties.

Ultimately we believe that by working together we can increase the rental owner’s share of rental revenue by ten to twenty percent, and that increase in profitability will benefit everyone involved.
